March is the month we honor women, and as a big advocate for feminine energy and women's empowerment, I couldn't think of a better way to honor women than to focus on a 28 Days to Feminine Wellness.
The last few years have been stressful, which can make anyone feel unsafe. However, for women, our feminine energy takes a hit, and we often transition into our masculine energy to protect ourselves. While masculine energy is necessary to stay grounded and focused, it can easily become imbalanced.
So I decided that for 28 days, I was going to focus solely on feminine wellness and energy by supporting 7 different areas to get the most holistic experience:
Womb Space
Creativity
Beauty
Home
Spirituality
Emotional
Physical
Doing this challenge will help to take the focus off of the external world, which is only a bigger reflection of the internal world, and completely pour into one of those areas each day for 28 days. Let's go over what this could look like for each section and why they're important for feminine wellness.
Womb Space
The womb is an additional feminine brain inside a woman's body, complete with her own intuition, wisdom, and divine creativity. The womb space is so incredibly intelligent that if the body is under stress, feels unsafe, or is holding on to negative emotions, life will struggle to be created and sustained. Since we can easily live in an unsafe space, whether externally or internally with our thoughts and emotions, we naturally release these thoughts and feelings during the luteal phase of our cycle. Everything that's been making us feel unsafe comes right up to the surface that we've been hiding and forces us to feel it, say it, scream it, and cry it all out.
I remember when I started my womb healing journey a little less than 10 years ago, I had no resources to help me and only had very limited information. I knew something was off, but struggled to find the help I needed on a holistic level. I started learning about how we hold emotions in the body, and the womb space is one of our biggest containers of self-worth and emotions that we have, and that was all I needed to know to get started. I forgave myself for dismissing my inner intuition, for doing all of the things I really didn't want to do but did anyway because of fear of rejection. When I took these steps to care for my womb space on a deeper level, my life changed dramatically. The types of partners I attracted were different, what I allowed in my life changed, and the boundaries I set for myself felt natural and unforced. Issues with yeast, PH imbalances, irregular cycles, and more seemed to fade without my awareness.
From then on, I've made it my mission to help women understand the power of this as well. So for this 28-day challenge, I'll be reconnecting with my womb space even though I don't feel any problems, but just to stay aligned and tap into my deep magnetism. This can be done by creating a womb space journal, reflecting on times of dismissing or rejecting the womb and practicing forgiveness, practicing womb breathing, eating womb-nourishing foods, and using only the very best products and underwear to keep her healthy.
Creativity
Creative energy is feminine energy. It's a massive part of the first feminine chakra- the sacral chakra. Women create life, and that is the most and highest form of creativity that one could possess. To be human is to be a creator, men and women alike, but as women, to tap into creative energy through different forms of expression does so much for feeling connected to both the inner and outer world.
Some women totally ignore or dismiss the thought of creativity due to a very narrow box of viewing creativity. Whether that view is creating art or drawing, painting, dancing, cooking, etc. Creativity is just bringing something into existence that wasn't there prior. This could be a conversation, a positive moment, a community, manifesting a new reality, anything really. When we as women take a moment to just have fun and make something or believe enough in ourselves to create without judgment, comparison, and frustration.
It gives you the opportunity to see physical evidence of your existence.
We can worry that maybe if what we create doesn't look like the example or doesn't fit our expectation, we tear it up and ourselves along with it. So for this challenge, focusing on creativity is powerful to help you release and express what is inside, boost your confidence, and help you to feel a deeper connection to yourself.
Supporting creativity can look like painting, drawing, writing, singing, dancing, inner child play, acting, cooking, sewing, event planning, and more.
Beauty
Beauty has always been connected to women and feminine energy.
Well, simply put, because feminine energy is beautiful. Beauty is not really what we make it out to be today with all of the beauty standards and beauty trends we can sometimes feel we need to compare ourselves.
Beauty is really the expression of harmony and balance.
When you go outside and see a rose or flower we see, feel, and smell how beautifully sweet it is. In order for it to flourish into existence there's an entire ecosystem that has to be present in order for that rose bush or tree to even exist. When we take superior care of ourselves beyond basic health, the things we focus on as part of our appearance naturally become more beautiful, because we are in balance and harmony.
We're eating the right foods, moving the body, practicing pampering and hygiene, and not just accepting ourselves, but truly loving who we are. Beauty is also inside as well whenever we are in emotional harmony we show up more compassionate, kind, and loving. So for this challenge, of course, paying attention to hair, skin, nails, and body are important, but creating that inner harmony is just as important as well which is why focusing on emotions are also very much needed.
To support beauty goals you can focus on hair treatments, beauty supplements, manicure/pedicure, facials, body treatments, and more.
Home
Home is our safe space and so much more. At the very least, we have to feel safe in our environments to grow mentally. Most of us focus on safety for our homes in terms of being in a safe neighborhood with low crime. That is of course essential to our physical safety, but there is so much more to it than that. Even seeing triggers, messiness, and filth in the home can create an unsafe feeling internally.
Clutter works for a few people because it may help them feel safe and as though they are present in their space. However, to feel like you can find everything you need with ease, saving time, and internal peace reduces stress and helps to set you up for success in the future. When our homes are messy we avoid having company over and times of togetherness for fear of judgment.
All of this leads to unconscious feelings and actions that can hinder our own abundance. Going beyond safety, for feminine energy to thrive there has to be an element of pleasure, relaxation, and a full sensory experience. This is why focusing on home as part of your feminine wellness is so important. When our home becomes a true sanctuary to heal, recharge, create, and feel safe, we accept and attract so much more into our lives.
To support your home practice organizing, letting go of items that trigger negative memories, create a pleasurable environment, and make it feel like it supports the woman you're designing yourself to become.
Spirituality
Spirituality is part of the third feminine chakra, the third eye. Feeling connected to a higher power and the world around you is very important to maintaining feminine energy and wellness. Not only does it help you feel a deep level of support and connection, but you become very in tune with yourself as well.
Did you know that a woman's intuition is heightened during the time of her menstrual phase? Insane right?! As a woman both sides of the brain hemispheres (left and right) communicate together and you naturally receive information as it flows back in forth. So if you experience a menstrual cycle every month, use that time to really tune in and listen to yourself, there is some incredible power happening during that time. Spirituality opens you up, helps with feeling more free and less burdened with the day-to-day activities and stressors in life.
To support your spiritual connection, practice prayer or meditation, try affirmation or oracle cards, spend time in nature, follow your gut intuition, and more.
Emotions
Emotions are so important to take care of and yet so many of us have felt disconnected, confused, out of control, and lost when it comes to emotions. We can put so much weight on how we feel, judging and criticizing ourselves, neglecting our emotional health and suggesting we are weak for feeling negative emotions. Emotions are our feedback guides to inform us on how we feel about our reality.
Our thoughts and memories trigger our emotions and can then trigger our actions and decisions. Some emotions can feel so scary that we can try to numb ourselves, pretend things don't hurt, or become dishonest with how we truly feel out of fear of not being deeply loved or accepted. As a woman, taking care of your emotional health is crucial. It's highly important for men too, but for women because of the female hormones we have, we tend to just feel more.
By taking steps forward to explore your emotions and view them as guides as well as shifting your mindset and thoughts to support your emotions, you become so keen and aware of exactly what is right for you and your life. Emotions also have a major effect on the body and if not managed properly, can manifest into diseases, illnesses, and possibly cancers.
Take the best care of your emotions through journaling, shadow work, expressing, talking, therapy, and doing whatever is necessary to feel balanced emotionally.
Physical
Last, but certainly not least, physical health is so important for all human beings of course so it 100% has to be a part of feminine wellness.
When we endure stress and feel overwhelmed the last thing we want to do is take care of our physical body due to low energy. We can spend a lot of time laying down, sitting, and not moving our bodies and not only is it unhealthy for us, ultimately we start to hold on to all of the super old energy that made us feel stressed to begin with.
Moving the body releases and cleanses out the old toxins whether it is from something we've consumed or stressful cortisol built up in the body. Eating the right nutritious foods to support the body and drinking plenty of water can truly do wonders for mood support, energy, overall health, and body function.
The special thing about women is that we are cyclical beings and through each phase of our cycle, we change tremendously in our hormones, brain, and more. With each phase, our body requires different nutrients to fully support us feeling our very best and for creating new life.
Even certain types of exercises during your cycle are important as well due to how the adrenal glands shift in cortisol throughout each phase as well. The key to supporting your physical health is to truly listen to your body, look at your body, take note of how your body feels and use this information to guide you towards better health.
Don't accept that due to age, your health has to decline along with it. You can remain and become more vibrant with more vitality at any age.
